I bought some plastic ramps with rubber feet. Very rarely a problem. Its not to say that they wont or dont skid away, its quite rare though.

Would tying a rope or cable to the ramp and then laying out said cable/rope along the tire tracks so the vehicle dives over the ropes/cables thus allowing the tires to hold it in place while still driving up the ramps . It seems like it wouldn't take an extreme amount of force to hold the ramps in place while the vehicle drives up the ramps .

Should they start making them with a flat piece of metal in front of the ramp (a pre-ramp or extension of sorts) so the vehicle can drive up on that extension with , hopefully , no problems and since that extension is part of the ramp one shouldn't have a problem driving up the rest of the ramp . At least it sounds like it would work .

And don't ever buy any that at not metal. Those things will surely break.

Using metal ramps on smooth concrete? Way to go…maybe if you stepped into the 21st Century, tossed those old metal ramps and got a set of polymer ramps with traction bottoms they wouldn’t slide and you wouldn’t fear them.

No, this is why you dont use THOSE ramps. Especially without chocking them…

There are several solutions to this problem. But i recommend using jackstands. ALWAYS.

Building ramps from wood is much better. You can build stair ramps out of 2x6’s for free if you can find scrap.

This is exactly why you put the squared ass end of them up against a curb so that they virtually cant go anywhere even if they wanted too. They’re designed to go up to a curb with them. And also they sell rubber mats you can put them on so they dont slide. This video just represents how much people literally dont think and do everything lazy in life. It works better if you put your toes under the ramp. Be sure to take your shoes off first!

Ramps are basically designed for outdoor use, On a concrete floor they are dangerous but someone who knows what they're doing shouldn't have a problem.
